How many unclaimed life insurance policies are there in North America?
Are you one of those clients that we are looking for?
Have you moved and forgotten to inform us or the insurance company? Did your parents set up a policy for you but you don't have the details?
We have seen policies with the insured being over 110 years, if living. There are also policies where the insured was a child but now in their 60s. So the owner may or may not be alive. It is extremely difficult to track down beneficiaries (or insured) if we do not know who or where you are.
Please reach us at info@insurancekit.ca if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We are more than just life insurance (term and permanent). We also offer a range of insurance options that protects families when one is still living, hence the name "Living Benefits", which includes accident and sickness, injuries and illness (yes they are different), critical illness, disability, long term care, health and dental for individuals and small businesses. Please see What is covered? for details,
We are dedicated to help those who are hard-to-insure like yourself. Please contact us directly for your unique situation. Most of the time, we will be able to find you coverage, though some restrictions might apply.
It depends on many things: your age, your health, the duration and amount you need, and whether you want cash savings in your policy. Every policy is unique and each quote for each type of insurance is different. Even with term insurance, the lowest premium does not necessary be the best fit for you.
The amount of life insurance you need will depend on factors such as your income, debts, and family's current and future financial needs. There are also online tools to help you get a general idea. We can also help you with our unique needs analysis to determine the type and amount of insurance you need if you book a time with us.
It makes no difference between advisor A and B, if you are getting the quotes with the same insurance company. The only difference would be whether the advisor has a contract with more than one insurance companies (career agent vs. a broker). A broker such as Insurance Kit will do the shopping around for you. A career agent will only be able to provide you quotes from the company they work with.
General speaking, yes. It is because of the medical advancement, many people are surviving health conditions that once was considered terminal. Therefore, it increases the chances of insurance companies paying out claims for critical illness insurance. So, they have to scruitinize more carefully whom they accept as clients.
The financial contribution of a stay-at-home spouse should not be overlooked. If that spouse were to become seriously ill or injured, the working spouse would either have to take time off work to provide care or hire a homecare nurse, resulting in loss of income and/or extra costs. This applies not only to children and seniors who are dependent on your care, but also to the broader family unit.
In the case of death, life insurance could assist in covering final expenses, or providing time off from work to grieve for as long as necessary.
